Taking a few moments for a health screening today can be an important step towards protecting your health and your future. ❤️
As part of Project Sunkalp, a cancer screening camp was conducted at Orathy PHC, Madurantakam, bringing preventive healthcare and early detection services closer to the local community.
A total of 70 beneficiaries came forward for screening, including 13 men and 57 women.
The camp provided:
• 55 iBreast Examinations
• 68 Oral Examinations
• 25 Pap Smear Tests
During the screening, one gynaecological screening finding was identified for further medical evaluation and follow-up. A screening finding does not by itself confirm a cancer diagnosis, which is why timely medical consultation and appropriate follow-up are important.
Cancer may not always show noticeable warning signs in its early stages. Regular screening can help identify suspicious changes earlier and encourage individuals to seek timely medical attention.
The participation of 57 women highlights the importance of making breast and cervical cancer screening services accessible within the community. Screening camps also provide an opportunity to create awareness about prevention, early detection, and the importance of regular health check-ups.
For many communities, accessing specialised healthcare can be challenging due to distance, cost, time, or limited awareness. Project Sunkalp works to bridge this gap by bringing cancer screening services closer to people through local healthcare facilities and community-based camps.
Through Project Sunkalp, Kalpavriksham Trust continues to work with PHCs, local communities, healthcare professionals, and CSR partners to expand access to cancer screening across Madurantakam.
